eHomeAmerica online classes
NeighborWorks® of Grays Harbor County proudly introduces homebuyer education online. NeighborWorks® has partnered with eHomeAmerica to offer online homebuyer education training available now from the privacy of your own home or any place you have an internet connection. With this new tool at your disposal, you may qualify for first time homebuyer programs, such as USDA or our own down payment assistance or NSP loan programs. After paying a small fee, you can take the class at your own pace and in the timeframe you decide. You will be able to sign in and out and go back to where you left off as many times as you need to finish the class.
eHome America was designed to help more people obtain a Certified Homebuyer Education certificate based on the National Industry Standard. Many people have a difficult time finding and getting to a homebuyer education class for face to face counseling for all kinds of reasons besides work schedules, babysitting issues and fuel cost. This online education helps individuals get the education and certification that they need to get positioned for the opportunities that require it, but at their convenience.
Though this online course may not replace in-person homebuyer counseling for all homebuyer opportunities in this state, we believe that the participants will benefit most from a thorough understanding of the homebuying process before they even start looking for a house or talking to their lender.
When each participant finishes this course, they will be directly connected to our HUD certified housing counselor to receive the required one-on-one counseling, over the phone or in-person, to access their certificate online.

Home Buyer Education (HBE)
This 8 hour HBE class uses the Washington State Housing Finance Commission curriculum to provide information on the home buying process and the opportunities available through the government. The Saturday classes are scheduled when there is enough participants to warrant a class. These classes may not meet all the requirements of all the loan opportunities available, but do result in a certificate
The following topics are typically discussed:
- How to secure financing
- How to find a realtor
- How to house shop
- Home inspections
- Down payment and closing cost requirements
A benefit of the class is that it opens the door for some down payment and closing costs assistance programs as well as other financing options. Some first time home buying programs require completion of this class.
These classes are presented on an as needed basis. Contact us for information and next class schedule.
